Can I bring my family to Ireland on a work permit?

Foreign nationals who have moved to Ireland to work with an employment permit can bring their family members. However, not all work permits allow an individual to bring their family members with them. The family members need to apply for a separate visa, which is an Ireland family visa, to migrate with them to the country.

Family members don’t have the automatic right to join their immediate employment permit holders until they are citizens of the EEA or EU, Iceland, Norway, Lichtenstein, Switzerland, or the UK. Foreign nationals are mostly allowed to come to the country after one year. After the employment permit holders settle in the country, only some of the work permit holders can migrate with the employment permit holder immediately.

A non-EU national can apply for an Ireland family visa, which allows the family member to reside in Ireland.
