There are several business visa options to set up or invest in an existing business in Australia. Though this business visa category is considered for entrepreneurs and investors in Australia, it also provides opportunities for retired individuals looking to make a fresh start.
 

The Australia Business visa is a program that helps business owners, senior executives, and investors migrate to Australia for business purposes and develop new or existing businesses there. This pathway also provides Permanent residency in Australia for entrepreneurs and investors.
 

There are two kinds of pathways for Business in Australia
 

  • Business Innovation and Investment Stream (Provisional visa): This visa is for entrepreneurs and investors eligible for permanent residency after establishing their businesses in Australia for 4 years.
  • Business Talent visa (Permanent visa): This visa is for talented entrepreneurs who can contribute to Australia's economy, allowing them to immediately gain Permanent residency in Australia.  
     

Which visa pathway

Business Innovation and Investment stream

Business Innovation and Investment stream is also known as Subclass 188 which is for entrepreneurs who can own, manage, or conduct a business in Australia. This visa initially offers a temporary residence of four years and three months, which can later be converted to permanent residency. This visa category is divided into five streams, which are:
 

  • Business Innovation stream
  • Entrepreneur stream
  • Investor stream
  • Significant investor stream
  • Premium investor stream
     

Requirements to apply for Business Innovation and Investment stream

To apply for Business Innovation and Investment stream, an applicant must fulfill:
 

  • Valid passport
  • Bank statement
  • Own a business at the time of application
  • Proof of managing business
  • Registered business license
  • Aged under 55 years
  • Nominated by state or territory government
  • Receive an EOI to be invited
  • Proof of sufficient funds
  • Position in your company
  • Have a personal asset of AUD 800,000
  • Form 1139A for your statement of assets and liabilities
  • English language proficiency
  • Character and Health certificate
  • Health Insurance
  • Sign Australia's values statement

Business Talent visa

The Business Talent visa is also known as Subclass 132 visa.  This visa is for talented entrepreneurs wishing to establish or develop businesses in Australia. This visa is divided into two categories, such as:
 

  • Significant Business History
  • Venture Capital Entrepreneurs

Requirements to apply for a Business Talent visa

Below are the requirements to apply for a Business Talent visa:

  • Age must be less than 55 years of age
  • Sufficient proof of funds of at least AUD 400,000
  • Company must have a turnover of AUD 3,000,000 in 2-4 years
  • Owner of the organization with at least 30% interest
  • Personal assets amount to at least AUD 1,500,000
  • Character and Health certificate
