Prince Edward Island conducted its latest invitation round on the 15th of August. 143 invitations were issued under the Labour Impact, Express Entry and Business Impact categories of the PEI PNP.
133 invites went to candidates under the Express Entry and Labour Impact stream while 10 were issued under the Business Impact stream.
The Express Entry sub-stream of the PEI PNP is aligned with the Federal Express Entry Program. This stream allows the PEI PNP to nominate FSWP, FSTC and CEC candidates for a provincial nomination. Obtaining a provincial nomination means adding 600 more points to the CRS score thereby guaranteeing an ITA for Permanent Residence.
Candidates who have a job offer from PEI can apply under the Labour Impact Stream. This stream is not linked to the Federal Express Entry Program. There are three categories under the Labour Impact Stream:
Critical Worker
Skilled Worker
International Graduate
The minimum cut-off for the Business Impact category was 112, as per CIC News.
To apply for a provincial nomination through PEI, you must first submit an Expression of Interest. Eligible candidates are scored based on the PEI points grid and placed in a pool. Highest scoring candidates are invited through regular draws from each pool.
The latest draw on 15th August saw 15 more invitations as compared to the previous draw held on 18th July. The 18th July draw saw 118 invitations being issued. The minimum cut-off in the previous draw was 112 and has been constant since the draw on 20th June.
