Overseas workers in Indonesia can work in 2 jobs!

Overseas workers in Indonesia will be permitted to work in 2 jobs. Indonesia will be offering flexible work visa rules for overseas nationals with effect from June 29, 2018. It has issued fresh regulations for the hiring of overseas workers in this regard.

 

In some sectors, overseas workers will be able to work with more than one employer with the same job title. The job titles and sectors that will qualify for double employment are yet to be announced. It is expected that this will be announced by next month.

 

The processing times for IMTA and RPTKA will be reduced to 2 working days. As of now, it is 1 to 3 weeks, as quoted by the Times of India. Shareholders working as Commissioner or Director of the same company will not require RPTKA. This is applicable for those who hold shares, consular or diplomatic officers, and overseas workers in jobs that are crucial for the government of Indonesia.

 

The payment of Fund for Skill and Development and RPTKA will no longer be needed for certain agencies. These include educational institutions, social and religious institutions, overseas agencies, consulates and embassies, and government agencies.

 

For emergency and urgent work, the employer will be able to apply for RPTKA, not beyond 2 working days after the overseas worker has started working. This is for maximum one month and RPTKA will be offered within 1 day of submission.

 

Within 2 working days of receipt of a complete application, Indonesian consulates will be required to offer VITAS. As of now, it takes around 3 to 10 working days. ITAS will be offered initially for 2 years and will be extendable. As of now, they are offered for 1 year.
