Ontario Express Entry Tech Draw

Ontario conducted the latest Tech Draw on 15th January issuing 954 invitations to Express Entry candidates. The cut-off score in this draw ranged between 460 and 472.

Candidates who received invitations in this Tech draw had work experience in one of the following occupations:

NOC Code Occupation Name
2173 Software Engineers & Designers
2147 Computer Engineers
2174 Computer programmers & interactive media developers
2172 Database analysts & data administrators
2175 Web designers & developers
0213 Computer & Information Systems Managers

The Tech Draws were launched by the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program in mid-2019. These draws aimed to address the growing tech skill shortage in the province. Ontario is home to some of the major tech hubs of Canada like Toronto, Waterloo and Ottawa. The OINP Tech Draws are designed to meet the growing demands of the technology sector in Ontario.

How can you be considered for the Tech Draw?

You must have an active profile in the Federal Express Entry Pool to be considered for the OINP Tech draws. Your Express Entry profile must be registered under either the Federal Skilled Worker Program or the Canadian Experience Class.

How does the Tech Draw work?

The OINP conducts the Tech Draws under the Human Capital Priorities Stream.

You do not need a job offer to be eligible under the Human Capital Priorities Stream.

Eligible candidates must meet the eligibility requirements of the Human Capital Priorities Stream. They must also have at least one year of work experience in an eligible tech occupation.

The OINP Tech draws are designed to search for Express Entry candidates who have eligible tech experience and also meet the eligibility criteria for the Human Capital Priorities Stream.
