The 2 –year pilot is aimed to attract overseas Entrepreneurs for establishing businesses in British Columbia. This is in smaller communities that have a population lesser than 75,000. These are facing acute shortages of skills with shrinking labour markets and aging populations.

The net worth and investment requirements for the EIRP are half of those specified under the mainstream British Columbia Entrepreneur.

Under Entrepreneur Immigration Regional Pilot candidates must invest $ 100,000. Their net worth must be $300,000 and create 1 job for Canadian PR holder or Citizen, as quoted by the CIC News. This program is only for overseas Entrepreneurs who intend to start a new business.

The important features of the Canada BC Entrepreneur Immigration Regional Pilot program are as follows:

Involvement of Community

Participating communities are actively involved in attracting the overseas Entrepreneur. They also assist in settlement upon arrival.

Referrals to BC PNP

Overseas Entrepreneurs can be referred by the communities to the BC PNP. The aspiring candidates must have paid a visit to the community. They must also have a business proposal in alignment with its economic priorities.

Community Concierge

Communities that participate in the Canada BC Entrepreneur Immigration Regional Pilot program have access to the BC PNP Community Concierge’ dedicated services.

Prioritization and Invitations

The candidates that are referred by the communities register in a distinct BC PNP pool. Invitations are offered to the highest scoring candidates on a monthly basis. Priority processing is offered to the candidates who are invited.
