More or less every giant US tech firms have technology pioneers of Indian descent. This is inclusive of the fathers of technology blogging and the USB. Here are 3 Global Indians who became successful in the US:

Sabeer Bhatia - Co-founder Hotmail:

The Co-founder of Hotmail Sabeer Bhatia is an Indian entrepreneur in the US. This email service was bought at a whopping $ 400 Million back then by Microsoft. Sabeer Bhatia grew up in Bangalore and studied at the St Joseph’s Boys High School. He also studied at the Bishop’s School in Pune.

Bhatia left Microsoft in 1999 and founded Arzoo Inc an e-commerce firm. He also later started JaxtrSMS a free messaging service.

Vinod Khosla - Co-founder Sun Microsystems:

Khosla was born in Delhi and graduated from the IIT – Delhi. He joined Daisy Systems electronic design automation firm in the US in 1980. He co-founded the Microsystems in 1982 in partnership with Scott McNealy his Stanford alumni. The partners also included Bill Joy and Andy Bechtolsheim. Vinod Khosla was the CEO of Sun till 1984.

He started his own venture capitalist firm in 2004 called Khosla Ventures. It manages investment capital of approximately $ 1 Billion. The firm invests in IT start-ups and clean technology, as quoted by the INC 42.

Ajay Bhatt - Computer Architect:

An Indo-American Computer Architect Ajay V. Bhatt helped to develop and define innumerable technologies used widely. This includes the Universal Serial Bus –USB, Accelerated Graphics Port – AGP, and PCI Express. It also includes diverse chipset improvements and Platform Power management architecture.

Bhatt holds around 31 patents in the US and many others are in diverse stages of filing. Achievement in Excellence Award was conferred to him in 2002. This was for his role in the development of PCI Express specification.
