Ontario Immigration Draw targets Skilled Trades Stream migrants

Ontario immigration authorities have held a fresh draw that targeted immigrants in the Skilled Trades Stream. This is the 12th draw being held under the stream Immigrant Nominee Program Ontario in 2018.

The latest Ontario immigration draw was held on 9th May. It offered Notifications of Interest to 48 candidates in the Skilled Trades stream of the Express Entry. This brings the total of NOIs offered so far in 2018 to 652.

The profiles in the Canada Express Entry pool that were considered for offering the Notifications of Interest were submitted during the period 1 January and 6 May 2018. The draw was also the second draw held in the month of May for the Skilled Trades stream. It has no requirement of minimum points, as quoted by the CIC News.

The Skilled Trades Stream in Express entry targets skilled trades workers in the agricultural and construction sectors. However, it can be expanded in the future.

The applicants who intend to qualify for Ontario Immigration through this stream must possess:

• Awaiting application under the national Express Entry system
• Minimum 1 year of continuous paid work experience in Ontario that is paid in the last 24 months prior to receiving NOI
• Evidence of certification or license of Ontario if the job requires
• A valid work permit and must be residing in Ontario while submitting the application
• French or English language CLB level 5 or plus in speaking, listening, writing, and reading
• Evidence of settlement fund for yourself and dependents with the threshold amount being decided by official Cut-Offs for Low Income
