New Zealand and Australia emerge as top overseas study destinations for Indian students

Latest reports have revealed that New Zealand and Australia have emerged as the most preferred choices for students from India for their overseas study destinations. When compared to 2016, 53% increased enrollment of Indian students was registered in the universities and institutions in New Zealand, as quoted by DNA India. Regional Director of South and South East Asia and the Middle East Education John Laxon has said that students from India are increasingly choosing New Zealand for their overseas studies owing to the global standard of education offered by the nation. The first-time student visa approvals for universities in New Zealand registered an increase of 53%, added Laxon. Elaborating on the increasing numbers of students from India arriving in New Zealand, John Laxon said that as New Zealand is offering welcoming, safe and international standard of education students are increasingly choosing the nation over conventional destinations such as the US and the UK. The government agency for international education, Education New Zealand has announced diverse initiatives that focus on internships for short term, scholarships, and specialist subject areas to appeal to the most talented students from India. Indian students are also increasingly choosing to immigrate to Australia for their overseas studies. Australia has emerged at the second most preferred overseas destination for students from India in the year 2016. Around 11% of the total students who immigrated overseas for their studies arrived at the Land of Kangaroos.
