The Finnish Immigration Service declared the revised changes to the processing fees for residency applications which will go into effect from January 1, 2024. The Ministry of Interior’s regulation which governs these changes will apply to different application categories.
There was an overall increase in residency applications in 2023, with an average of 1,400 applications per week. This surpasses the previous year’s numbers recorded.
The authority encourages online submissions via the Enter Finland platform for cost savings and increased efficiency. Online applications are more affordable and processed more quickly compared to the paper submissions. In addition to streamlining the application procedure, Enter Finland also allows applicants to track their status of applications and submit any additional required documents.
