The US E-Visas include treaty investors and traders who arrive at the US under a treaty of navigation and commerce. This is between the US and the nation of which the treaty investor or trader is a citizen. It is also inclusive of specialty occupation workers of Australia.
The US E-Visas have three categories:
Treaty Investors and Traders: E-2 and E-1 Visas
Agreement traders conduct significant trade in goods. It is inclusive of but not limited to technology and services. This is chiefly between the nation of the overseas national and the US.
Agreement investors supervise the operations of a business project in which they have made an investment. Alternatively, they are actively making an investment of a considerable amount of funds, as quoted by the USCIS Gov.
The Treaty Investors or Traders must apply for and obtain the E-2 or E-1 Visa before arriving at the US. This is from an overseas US Embassy or US Consulate. Nevertheless, a firm in the US can also request for a status change to E-2 or E-1 for an immigrant who is in the US. The extensions of stay and change of status requests are processed by the USCIS. This is for immigrants whose firms have filed these petitions.
Specialty Occupation Worker of Australia: E-3 Visa
E-3 is a category under US E-Visas for specialty occupation workers of Australia performing services in a specialty occupation. They must apply for and obtain the E-3 Visa before arriving at the US. This is from an overseas US Embassy or US Consulate. Nevertheless, a firm in the US can also request for a status change to E-3 for an immigrant who is in the US. The extensions of stay and change of status requests are processed by the USCIS. This is for immigrants whose firms have filed these petitions.
