ENS International Selection Scholarships for International Students

Amount of Scholarship Offered: €1,000 monthly for 36 months at the master's level for international students. 

Start date: September 2024

Last date for Application: December 11, 2023

Courses covered: Full-time master's programs at an École Normale Supérieure (ENS), a type of public-funded college or university in France, or one of the partner institutions of ENS in the fields of science, arts, and humanities for international students.

What are ENS International Selection Scholarships for International Students? 

The ENS International Selection Scholarships are offered to arts, humanities, and sciences students who have completed a minimum of one year of undergraduate courses in an overseas university and performed outstandingly well in academics.

Who can apply for ENS International Selection Scholarships for International Students?

Eligible for these scholarships are international students with varied profiles, which include students to be registered in the third year of bachelor's in mathematics and in computer science (license 3) or first year of master's (master 1), hailing from any discipline from any part of the world. 

Number of Scholarships Offered: 10 in sciences and 10 in arts and humanities. 

List of Universities Offering the Scholarship: International applicants can apply for the ENS International Selection scholarships at universities recognized in France.

Eligibility for ENS International Selection Scholarships for International Students

To be eligible for these scholarships, applicants need to fulfill the following criteria:

International students aged fewer than 26 who should not have resided in France for more than ten months during the selection's academic year. 

Candidates must have justified a minimum of one year of bachelor's degree granted by a university not belonging to France in the calendar year previous to the applications.

Candidates must have justified a minimum of two years of bachelor's degree granted by a university not belonging to France on September 1 of the existing calendar year following admission.

Scholarship Benefits: Besides €1,000 monthly, scholars get a room on one of the ENS campuses.

Selection Process: The selection process involves the examiners board designing tests to assess the abilities of candidates to analyze, develop, and generate information. The candidates' culture of science or literature and academic curiosity and also their projects' significance through two oral tests including the following.

Oral interview on one major of a minimum of one hour 

Oral interview on the scientific culture of the candidate, which will range from 45 minutes to 1 hour

The candidate can opt to answer either in English or French.

Disciplines include Biology, Cognitive Studies, Chemistry, Computing Science, Earth Science, Mathematics, and Physics. 

How to apply for the ENS International Selection Scholarships for International Students?

Applicants eligible for the scholarship need to follow the steps mentioned below:

Step 1: A completed file needs to be submitted to the jury.

Step 2: If your dossier is selected by the jury, you will be invited to take written and oral exams.

Step 3: The students' marks on the tests will decide the list of students to be admitted.
