Express Entry Draw #172 specifically targeted those with previous Canadian experience. As per Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada [IRCC] “Candidates from the Canadian Experience Class were eligible for this round of invitations.”

This is the second Express Entry draw of 2021. The first draw of the year, held on January 6, 2021, targeted Express Entry candidates that had been nominated under the Provincial Nominee Program [PNP].

As a PNP nomination fetches an Express Entry candidate 600 CRS points, the minimum cut-off in PNP-specific draws tends to be in the higher range. CEC-specific draws, on the other hand, usually have a lower CRS required – as compared to all-program draws – as a smaller pool of candidates is considered.

With a tie-breaking rule of September 12, 2020 at 20:46:32 UTC applied, CEC candidates that had CRS 461 only received invitations if their Express Entry profile had been submitted before the specific date and time.

Despite being an unprecedented year in terms of the global travel restrictions, 2020 nonetheless proved to be a record-breaking year for Express Entry. As many as 107,350 invitations were issued in 2020 in the 37 Express Entry draws held throughout the year.

Over 4 lakh newcomers are to be welcomed by Canada in 2021.

Along with being the leading country among the Top 10 most-accepting countries for migrants, Canada is the most popular country for migrate overseas.
