The White House has announced that the US will be introducing points based Green Cards system that will favor skilled workers with fluent English language. The new points based Green Cards system will be similar to the immigration system operational in Canada and Australia.
Jason Miller the Senior Advisor to US President said that diverse factors will be assessed as a part of the new points based Green Cards system. For instance, the ability to support oneself financially, salary range and possessing skill adding value to the economy of US added Miller.
The Advisor to US President further elaborated that the points based Green Cards system fulfill one of the major promises of Trump – the merit based immigration system. The revised points based Green Cards system will safeguard the economy, taxpayers and workers in the US said, Miller. He explained that the new system will give priority to skilled overseas workers over overseas investors who intend to but entry to the US, as quoted by the Workpermit.
US President Donald Trump said that the reforms to the immigration system are aimed at increasing salaries, combating poverty and saving the taxpayers money. He was speaking at an event at the White House to endorse RAISE Act.
Trump added that these aims will be achieved by reforming the manner in which the US offers Green Cards to overseas immigrants. Green Cards offer PR, authorization for work and a faster pathway to citizenship said, Trump.
