How long does it take to get a student visa?

You can apply for the UK visa 6 months before you start your course. The decision on your visa is usually done within 3 weeks.

How much does a student visa cost?

The payment varies according to the place the applicant is applying from:

£348 to apply for a student visa from outside the UK
£475 to extend or switch to a student visa from inside the UK

You must pay the visa fee for each family member that joins you in the UK.

What IELTS score is required for a Student Visa?

If you are applying for a Student Visa to start a bachelor's or postgraduate degree program at a Tier 4 Sponsored university, you must meet the institution's English language requirements. IELTS scores are accepted by all British universities and institutions. Please keep in mind that some colleges and universities may have additional prerequisites.

Do I need a PCC/Medicals for a Student Visa?

Those applying for a student visa and intending to stay in the UK for six months or more will be charged an immigration health surcharge in addition to their visa application price.
For the duration of the visa, students will be forced to pay £470 per year. If the absence is for a period of 6 months or less, it is considered a part-year leave.

Can I take my dependents on Student visa?

On the Tier 4 dependent visa, your family members including your spouse and dependents will be able to join you or stay with you in the UK during your course of study.

Sponsored by a higher education institute for a Level 7 course with a duration of 9 months or more
Doing a government-sponsored course that has more than 6 months duration

How can a student get a residence visa post their study to live and work?

Graduated International students in the UK on a valid Tier 4 visa are permitted to stay in the UK if they hold a job offer with an annual salary of at least GBP 20,800. The students are needed to switch from a Tier 4 Visa to a Tier 2 General Visa which lasts up to five years in order to stay in the UK upon completing their studies.
The work experience students gain while working may help them in qualifying for permanent residence provided, their annual income must be at least GBP 35,000.
