The Embassy of Denmark in India, taking cognizance of the growing incidences of job seekers in India being duped in the name of the Embassy, has issued a Caution Notice.
As per the Embassy of Denmark, India, there have been many reports of individuals communicating with jobseekers in India, impersonating officials of the Embassy.
The visa scam involved jobs in Denmark being offered to the unsuspecting victims at a payment.
Giving the reference of a supermarket chain in Denmark, the fraudsters would ask the jobseekers to establish contact with a specified fake email id for Denmark work visa. A bank account and other phone numbers would be provided as well.
The Embassy of Denmark, in the Caution Notice issued, has denied any connection with the process.
Allegedly, a private company said to be based in Punjab had been found to be advertising for work permits for Denmark, along with promising Denmark permanent residency later.
In its Caution Notice, the Embassy of Denmark, India, cautions the general public that the Embassy will neither appoint nor authorize any agency or person to offer employment to people online or otherwise, or issue work permits, or any letters or act on behalf of the Embassy or use the official trademark/logo/website.
Moreover, the Embassy has specified that no payment shall be asked for, solicited or accepted except as per the specific process laid down on the official website.
The public, in general, are advised to be cautious in this regard and not fall prey to any such visa scams.
