A Pakistani man working as a guard in the UAE has been detained for selling fake residency visas. He has been accused of cheating a fellow Pakistani of Dh 76,100 for fake visas.
The Pakistani guard has been accused by prosecutors of forging 15 fake Residency Visas. The fake visas were attributed to the GDRFA and the FAIN (Federal Authority of Identity & Naturalization).
The fraud case date back to 29th October 2018. A complaint was lodged against the Pakistani guard at the Al Rashidiya Police Station.
The complainant stated that he had handed over Dh 76,100 to the Pakistani man in a span of 5 months. The complainant paid him to obtain Employment Visas for several people in Pakistan. The complainant also said that he got the guard’s phone number through a friend who said that he could help obtain UAE visas. He also said that the accused had sent him visa copies through Whatsapp.
The complainant also said that he had phone conversations with the accused regarding the visas. He also said that his friend was present when he paid the accused for the visas, as quoted by the Khaleej Times.
However, the person in Pakistan for whom the visa was issued found out that it was forged. The complainant then confronted the accused to which the accused said that he would “correct” the visas. The accused told him to go and complain to the Police when he asked for his money back.
The complainant also said that he had asked for 43 visas. The accused had only given him 15 even though he collected the documents and money for all of them. The complainant also said that a part of the money was sent to a person in Pakistan too.
The FAIN has issued a letter stating that the visas were forged.
The ruling for this case was slated for 31st July.
