1.What is a “SCHENGEN Visa”?
A Schengen visa, also called “C” visa, is a short stay visa (up to 90 days per semester) valid for the 26 States member of the Schengen agreement unless indicated otherwise on your visa.
2.Who can apply for a Schengen Visa?
You can apply for this visa if your purpose of travel is:
- Visiting relatives or friends.
- Business or conference visits, seminars or similar arrangements.
- Participation in sports events.
- Cultural exchanges.
- Other specific purposes that is of personal or economic nature.
3.How long the Schengen Visa is valid?
A visa is temporary and is valid for a maximum 90 days per six month period.
4.Can one have a Schengen visa for more than 90 days?
Yes, If a person has special reasons, they may receive a visa for a longer period (D visa). D visas are valid throughout the Schengen Area but are considered in accordance with national rules and can apply for up to 1 year.
5.What type of visa one has to apply if he/she visit Schengen countries often ?
You can apply for a Schengen Visa that is valid for several entries if for example you regularly visit your children or frequently take business trips to Sweden. A visa with several entries can be valid for stays of a maximum 90 days every six months over a maximum period of 5 years.
