Building Architect

Overview

Building architects work in the construction industry and are involved with the designing of new buildings, extensions or alterations to the existing buildings, and even advising on the restoration of the design of the surrounding landscape and spaces.

Tasks

Work closely with their clients and users to make sure that the projected designs match their needs and are functional, safe and economical.

Control a project from start to finish and work with a number of construction professionals, including surveyors and engineers, and are also responsible to create drawings and specifications.

Regular site visits to check on progress, ensuring that the project is running on time.

Resolve problems or issues that arise during construction.

Ensure that the building structures are environmentally-friendly.

Qualifications Requirement

Must have a Master’s in Architecture
