In the latest round of invitations held on November 19, 2020, Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program [SINP] has invited a total of 551 candidates to apply for a provincial nomination for Canadian permanent residence.

Candidates received invitations under the SINP’s International Skilled Worker category. Of the total invitations issued, while 214 were invited through the Express Entry sub-category, another 337 received invitations through the Occupations In-Demand sub-category.

The previous SINP draw was held on November 3, 2020.

Typically, Saskatchewan issues invitations on a bi-monthly basis. As per the SINP, the size as well as frequency of the SINP draw will be based on the requirements of “the SINP application inventory”.

Basic step-wise process for SINP nomination

The SINP limits the selection of Expression of Interest [EOI] profiles based on occupation. This is done for ensuring that candidates with positive employment prospects within the province are selected.

Additionally, an occupation-wise limit is a way of determining that the nominations do not exceed the employment demand in Saskatchewan.

To be considered by the SINP for EOI selection, both Express Entry, as well as Occupations In-Demand candidates, are required to have submitted their EOI profiles with the SINP.

Upon successful registration, an EOI score – based on the 5 factors of connections to Saskatchewan, work experience, language ability, education, and age – will be allotted. This will be the “EOI score” of the candidate.

To apply for the International Skilled Worker category of the SINP, a minimum of 60 out of a total of 100 will have to be scored on the SINP point assessment grid.
