Ontario PNP invites 528 in latest HCP draw

Canada's Ontario province has held its latest round of invitations under the Provincial Nominee Program [PNP].

On April 13, 2021, at 9:30 am EST,the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program [OINP] issued a total of 528 Notifications of Interest [NOIs] to Canada immigration hopefuls through Ontario’sExpress Entry Human Capital Priorities Stream.

Linked with the federal Express Entry system, Ontario’s Express Entry Human Capital Priorities Stream provides a pathway for foreign workers – that have the required skilled work experience, education, and language abilities – for applying to live and work in Ontario.

 

To qualify for the Express Entry Human Capital Priorities Stream, a candidate must successfully meet all the eligibility requirements of either of the following federal Express Entry programs –

• The Canadian Experience Class [CEC], or
• The Federal Skilled Worker Program [FSWP].

A valid profile in the federal Express Entry system of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada [IRCC] would be required.

At the time of the creation of the profile in the IRCC Express Entry system, the candidate must indicate their interest in Ontario immigration by either specifically selecting ‘Ontario’ or opting for “All Provinces and Territories”.

April 13 OINP draw included profiles created in IRCC Express Entry system between April 13, 2020 and April 13, 2021.

Following an OINP nomination, the next step would be that of applying to the federal government of Canada, through IRCC, for their Canadian permanent residence.

Those issued NOIs by the OINP will have 45 calendar days – from the date of receiving their invitations from Ontario PNP – for applying through the OINP e-Filing Portal.

All supporting documentation must be duly scanned and ready for uploading at the time of submitting the online application.

As the latest OINP draw was another targeted draw, eligible Express Entry candidates that had work experience in any of the 6 occupations were issued invitations to apply. Provided, however, that their ranking score, as per the Comprehensive Ranking System [CRS] was between CRS 456 and CRS 467.

Earlier, the OINP had targeted 10 occupations in the March 2 OINP draw.

Note. – An application that does not demonstrate work experience in any 1 of the 6 eligible NOC codes will be refused.

Those successful in securing a nomination will be sent an OINP Certificate of Nomination and a Nomination Approval Letter by email. A notification of nomination will be received by the candidate through their IRCC online account.

An Express Entry candidate that is a provincial nominee is automatically allotted 600 CRS points, ensuring an invitation to apply for Canada PR from IRCC in the subsequent federal draw to be held.

As per a program update, the OINP has introduced changes in the processing of Ontario PNP applications submitted under “the Express Entry and Expression of Interest (once launched) streams at intake”.

With effect from April 13, 2021, the OINP will be returningapplications deemed to be incomplete. The OINP expects the change to result in “higher quality applications and improved processing times for all streams”.

With the latest OINP draw, a total of 3,361 Canada immigration hopefuls have been invited by Ontario PNP so far in 2021.
