In the latest round of provincial invitations to be sent out by Ontario, a total of 1,186 candidates have been invited in an Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program [OINP] Tech Draw held on February 16, 2021. The issuance of notifications of interest has been done by the OINP as per “targeted occupations” under Ontario’s Express Entry Human Capital Priorities [HCP] stream.

A Canada immigration pathway under the OINP, the HCP stream provides foreign workers that have the required education, language abilities, and skilled work experience the opportunity for applying to live and work in Ontario permanently.

A valid profile in the Express Entry system of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada [IRCC] will be required.

Express Entry candidates successful in securing a nomination through the Provincial Nominee Program [PNP] of Canada are guaranteed an invitation by IRCC in the next federal draw to be held.

Acquiring Canadian permanent residence through the PNP route is a 2-step process –

·         STEP 1: Securing a PNP nomination,

·         STEP 2: Applying to the federal government of Canada through IRCC.

IRCC has the final decision on whether an individual is to be granted Canada PR.

As the HCP stream of the OINP is aligned with the federal Express Entry system, the Comprehensive Ranking System [CRS] score of the candidates is the primary deciding factor as to who is invited through the stream.   In the latest OINP draw on February 16, invitations were issued to HCP candidates that had their CRS scores between 453 and 467.
