Latest AINP draw invites 187 with CRS 303

Details of the latest Alberta Express Entry stream draw have been released. On June 17, the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program [AINP] has invited 187 immigration candidates to apply for provincial nomination. 303 was the minimum required as the Comprehensive Ranking System [CRS] score.

The previous AINP draw was held on May 13, 2020.

With this, Alberta has invited a total of 1,785 Express Entry candidates so far in 2020. The provincial allocation for Alberta for this year has not yet been released. In 2019, as many as  6,884 invitations were issued through the Alberta Express Entry stream.

Notification of Interest letters, or NOIs, issued by Alberta in its latest Provincial Nominee Program [PNP] draw have been to Canada immigration candidates that might have been eligible through the Alberta Express Entry Stream.

Now, with an invitation to apply for a provincial nominated, these candidates are a step closer to their Canada permanent residence. Being provincially nominated fetches 600 additional points that are added to the overall CRS score of the profile while in the Express Entry pool.

Express Entry candidates have the opportunity of being invited – by Alberta and other provinces that have Express Entry-aligned PNPs – to apply for a provincial nomination.

To be eligible, candidates are required to have work experience in an eligible occupation that supports the diversification priorities and economic development of Alberta.

As of now, the AINP is only inviting candidates that are already in Alberta.

With special COVID-19 measures in place, Alberta requires candidates to fulfil the following criteria in order to be considered for a nomination –

Be working in Alberta currently, even if it is a work from home situation
Having a work permit that authorizes them to work in their present job
Having a job that is
  • Full-time
  • Paid
  • Meeting the provincial minimum wage
  • Exceeding the Labour Market Impact Assessment [LMIA]
Must be working in an eligible occupation

Applications will be kept on hold by the AINP in situations wherein the candidates had been working full time before the COVID-19 pandemic and who are working in a regulated occupation but unable to meet licensure requirements.

Applications will not be processed – till further notice – for candidates that have no recent employment history in the province of Alberta.
