Indians will get new US visa appointments in other countries’ consulates

The US is aiming to reduce the delays in processing of visas. The US embassy in India announced that Indians residing in other countries will have the opportunity to get visa appointments in those countries. Thailand has opened the capacity for B1/B2 visas for those Indians who will arrive in the country in the near future. The waiting period for the B1/B2 visa in Thailand is only 14 days.

Initiatives to increase the US visa processing speed

The US has taken a range of initiatives to increase the speed of the processing of visas. These initiatives are:

Scheduling special interviews for the applicants who have applied for the first time
Increasing the number of consular staff to reduce delays in visa processing
Remote processing of the interview waiver cases for the pervious US visas will also be implemented
Interviews will be arranged on select Saturdays
