Canada held the second Express Entry draw in five days, this time for Canadian Experience Class candidates. The latest draw held on 23rd March invited 3,232 candidates with a minimum required Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 467.
This was the second time since 2015 that Canada has conducted a specific draw for the Canadian Experience Class. The Canadian Experience Class is for candidates who have at least one year of work experience in Canada in the last three years.
Apart from the Canadian Experience Class, the Express Entry Program also manages the applicant pool for Federal Skilled Worker Class and the Federal Skilled Trades Class. Most Express Entry draws tend to be all-program draws inviting candidates from all programs.
The previous Express Entry draw was held on 18th March specifically for candidates who had a provincial nomination. The last draw issued 668 invitations with a minimum CRS score of 720.
Canada has set a higher intake target for 2020 and 2021. To meet the higher intake targets, it is expected that the IRCC will conduct larger and more frequent draws in the months to come.
All-program draws generally tend to have a higher cut-off score as compared to draws for specific programs. Program-specific draws tend to target a smaller group of candidates, which causes the minimum cut-off score to drop.
The minimum cut-off score of 467 in the latest draw was three points lower than the last all-program cut-off score of 470.
The date and time used for the tie-break rule in the 23rd March draw were 25th November 2019 at 14:00:35 UTC. If you are a CEC candidate and had submitted your EOI before the above date and time, you will receive an invitation if you had a CRS score of 467 or more.
With the latest draw, the number of invitations for Permanent Residence issued this year has reached 22,600.
