Canada created a new record of welcoming 431,645 permanent residents in 2022

IRCC announced that Canada made a new record of issuing 431,645 Canada PR visas in a single year. It has broken the record of 2021, in which the number of permanent residents welcomed was 401,000.

IRCC has processed around 5.2 million applications for the following:

permanent residence
temporary residence
citizenship

IRCC gave the credits to new technology, resources, streamlined processing, and brought many processes online to increase the speed. The government has also planned to spend CAD 50 million for 2023-2025 to reduce the backlog which was 1.09 million on November 30, 2022.
