Canada announces new immigration fees for 2022 Canada has announced to increase the fee of the application of permanent residence. The fee will be increased from April 30, 2022. This will be for the applicants who come under permit holder, economic, family and humanitarian classes. Highlights

  • Fee increase will come into effect from April 30, 2022.
  • Previous fee increase was done in 2020.
  • Increase in fee is to adjust for inflation.
  • All the amount is in Canadian dollars.

  Besides this fee, applicants may also have to pay the right of permanent residence fee, which is $500. This fee payment can be made at the time of submitting the application. This fee has to be paid by those applicants whose application is approved. If the application is rejected, the fee will be refunded. https://youtu.be/atqfMxqDye8 The following people are exceptional for the right of permanent residence fee:

  • Children of the sponsor or principal applicant
  • Applications for sponsorship for adopted children
  • Applications for sponsorship for an orphaned relative
  • Protected persons which include applicants on the basis of humanitarian grounds, compassionate grounds, and convention refugees

No increase will be done for the application on the fee of permanent resident cards, permanent resident travel documents, certifications, and replacement immigration documents.
