Statistics Canada has released a report which states that the job vacancy rate in this period is 5.7 percent. Overall job vacancy rate is 4.7 percent. There are more than one million job vacancies in Canada. In 2020, the demand for workers exceeded in comparison to the growth in payroll. This resulted in high number of vacancies and many candidates are eager to migrate to Canada to live work and settle.

Unemployment rate in Canada recorded low, and employment rate increased by 1.1 million – May Report
There are six provinces where job vacancies have increased. Ontario saw the largest increase which is 6.6 percent followed by Nova Scotia 6 percent. Below table gives you all the information percentage of increase in each province:

New Brunswick is the only province where job vacancies decreased. Other provinces did not show any rise or drop in the number of job vacancies.

The high rate of job vacancy and low rate of unemployment is causing challenges for the employers to fill up the vacant positions.
