There is a growing shortage of teachers globally; according to UNESCO about 2.2 million teachers would be required over the next decade.  Despite common myths of easy work for easy pay, there are not enough teachers to go around the English-speaking world, and many teachers are starting to realize it. The shortage is in the secondary school areas of Math and Science.

• USA
  Thousands of teachers are needed in school districts in the US, particularly for Math and science teachers. Schools in the US recruit teachers from Japan, India, Colombia, Pakistan, Ghana, Jamaica and Mexico. Teachers are recruited on the H1B and J1 visas.
• UK
  Most of the teachers in the UK are over 45 years and are leaving the profession. The government is offering several incentives to encourage teachers coming back to teach shortage subjects like math, sciences, languages and English. Young specialist teachers are granted visas under the HSW category.
• Australia
  

  In Australia secondary teachers with specialists’ skills are included in the National and State/territory skills shortage lists. Critical shortage of teachers exists in Australia in a range of subject areas and in particular rural and remote regions across most states and the NT.

• Denmark
