Students Opportunities
Studying Overseas is a once in lifetime opportunity that must not be missed and must be used tactfully. A right strategy would mean a life changing experience. It provides individuals with not only a degree but also with an exposure that no textbook can teach. There are several options for every student depending on the intent, merit and money.
Country
- USA
With over 80,000 students, Indians are the highest numbers of international students inside the USA. The USA has the best opportunities for any student. A US Student Visa is the most priced visa and only goes to those with merit, money or both. You will need to prepare almost a year in advance to increase your probability of getting into a good school and obtaining a visa. The US with about 5000 universities offers the highest selection.
Upon Graduation:
US offers 1 year of practical training which is sufficient time for finding an H1B Sponsor. There is a separate quota of 20,000 H1B visas for students every year. -
UK
About 12000 Indian students study in the UK. UK has a 100 universities and most of its Masters Programs are 1 year in duration. Many universities don’t require the GMAT or GRE. Its easier to obtain an admission and visa to the UK if the papers and genuine intent are in order.
Upon Graduation

PSW: Post Study Work visa, you can stay back in the UK for 2 years. - Australia
Has about 8000 Indians students studying in its 36 universities and TAFE institutes. Australia is the only country which allows Graduate Migration. To be eligible for graduate migration international students must be enrolled in a 2 year program and in a 60 point program or in Regional Area.
Upon Graduation
Students can apply for Permanent Residence 6 months before their graduation. They get a PR status upon graduation. Students who don’t qualify will need to leave the country within 3 months of graduation.
Other Countries: Germany: Free Education in English; Ireland: Green Cards for students proposed; Singapore: relaxed admission; cheaper tuition; France: Green Cards for students proposed.
- Canada
Over 2000 Indians students study in Canada. The reason being that there aren’t many universities and admissions are not easy to come by. Visas issuance is not as liberal as other countries.
Upon Graduation:
Allows students to stay back for 1 year (2 years if studied in New Brunswick) to look for a sponsor and gain practical experience.
