The Overseas Household Worker Program is a viable option for those in the US who are on non-immigrant visas and who wish to take domestic help (maids/ servants) to work in their homes in the US.

 

Who is eligible to sponsor Overseas Household Workers?


However, most A, G, and NATO visa holders and most other nonimmigrant visa holders (B, E, F, H, I, J, L, M, O, P, Q, R, or TN) are eligible to sponsor Overseas Household Workers. Most relevant and beneficial to the following two categories of applicants: (a) those on nonimmigrant status like F-1, H1B, L-1, and E-1 status or (b) those who are U.S. citizens living abroad, returning temporarily to the U.S

 

Who is eligible to apply as an Overseas Household Worker?


First, the Overseas Household Worker must demonstrate that s/he has worked for the employer for at least 1 year in India or must have at least one year of prior experience working as a servant. Second, the Overseas Household Worker must prove nonimmigrant intent. Once the employer obtains permanent resident status, that per son is no longer eligible to use the services of the Overseas Household Worker

How does one qualify as a domestic worker in a private household? 



He/she must be able to show evidence for the following.

  • He/she is aged over 18.
  • He/she has been working as a domestic worker in the same house as the employer for at least one year immediately before his/her application, or he/she have been working in a household that his/her employer uses regularly for themselves for at least one year immediately before your application, and he/she can show that there is a connection between him/her and the employer.
  • He/she intend to travel to the UK with your employer, your employer’s husband, wife, civil partner, eligible partner or your employer’s child who is under 18.
  • He/she intends to work full-time as a domestic worker in the same house as the employer, or in a household that the employer uses regularly for himself or herself, and he/she can show that there is a connection between him/her and the employer.
  • He/she does not intend to work in the UK except as a domestic worker.
  • He/she can support yourself (as confirmed by the employer) without needing help from public funds.

One is a domestic worker if he/she is providing a personal service linked to the running of your employer's household. Examples include chauffeurs, gardeners, cooks and nannies.

 

How long can one stay in the UK as a domestic worker? 



When you apply to come to the UK as a domestic worker, we will normally give you permission to stay for up to six months if your employer is coming to the UK as a visitor. If your employer plans to live here for longer, we will normally give you permission to stay for up to 12 months. The visa in your passport tells you the date your permission to stay ends.

 

Before your permission to stay ends, you must either:
start to make arrangements to leave the UK, or
apply to the Home Office in the UK to stay longer.

Visa (Rejected Twice) - in recent 2 years $440

 

Refund Policy:

Visa Denial - 20% refund. No refunds in cases of

  • Fraudulent documentation
  • Failure of Medicals (if required)
  • Failure of Police clearance (if required)
  • Insufficient Funds
NO Refund in case of:
  • Non-submission of required documents in 30 days after sign up
  • Withdrawal of application at anytime, for any reason after sign up
